In this project, educational experts, representatives from History Teachers Associations and representatives of educational authorities in the Western Balkans worked together to increase understanding on areas and ways of making history teaching more relevant and constructive. The project was coordinated by CDRSEE – Centre for Democracy and Reconciliation in Southeast Europe together with EUROCLIO and implemented with member associations in the region: Albania (ALBNA), Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUROCLIO HIP BIH), Kosovo (SHMHK), Macedonia (ANIM), Montenegro (HIPMONT) and Serbia (UDI). The project aimed to reform and implement changes in the formal school system that will intensify democratic education, reform education and schools in the region to enhance critical thinking and active citizenship. On the macro level, it contributed to sustaining the democratization process and enhances conflict sensitivity in the Western Balkans.
