The task of the joint German-Czech and German-Slovak Historical Commission is to research the history of Germans, Czechs and Slovaks. Its work focuses on the 20th century. The Commission works in an interdisciplinary manner and strives to analyze unifying and dividing historical experiences of Germans, Czechs and Slovaks in a broad scientific context and in a comparative perspective. It organizes conferences, workshops and expert discussions and publishes its own series of publications.
