The Austrian-Ukrainian Commission of Historians (ÖUHK) was constituted in January 2017 as an initiative of Austrian and Ukrainian historians. The declared goal of the commission is to contribute to the improvement of academic contacts through jointevents to contribute to an improvement of scientific contacts, which is also supported by the political side. Thus, science and and in particular the development of bilateral relations in science and research was a focus of the Austria-Ukraine Year of Culture 2019.
