Following a kick-off event in Kyiv on September 20, the 3rd Congress of Eastern European Researchers took place in Warsaw from September 22 to 24. Under the title “A New Image of Our Neighbors – A New Language, New Narratives, and New Education about the Past, Present, and Future”, the congress explored how communities that live along shared cultural and political borders deal with their differences.
On the first day, representatives of the German-Polish and the Polish-Ukrainian textbook commissions hosted a panel on “History lessons in schools – Towards a joint Polish-Ukrainian textbook for history lessons”. This was followed up by a workshop with teachers and experts on bilateral textbooks on the next day.
